May our Lord be with your family at this time. I feel many ties to your family. I was born on the Card place 4 miles south & 1 west of Vona in 1943. From 1944 to 1949 we lived on your Mom's Miller place 7.5 miles south. George, your home in Vona was mine when dust storms prevented your Dad from busing the south kids. I slept over in the basement many times. Also, a few years before the old Card house fell down I found, and saved for your family, some old water stained report cards. I think they are your Dad's from country school. We liked having Steve come back a few years after he graduated to practice basketball at the gym and toughen us up. We want all of you to come back for homecoming 10/1/10 & 10/2/10, but now we have lost Vona's oldest graduate. Katy Boese graduated in 1931 and lives in Loveland. My Mom was 91 last Friday and she graduated in 1937. Again, get homecoming on your calendars and bring your kids and grandchildren. They will enjoy the Vona memorabilia display, plus Wendy Jenning is planning to come from Washington D.C.

I am so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to lose ones' parent. Just know she is in good hands with her Lord and Savior.

Bessie was a very special person. It was a joy to see her going around Cheyenne Manor when that was her home.

Bessie was a cook at the local grade school and her husband was the custodian when I was in grade school. They were both such nice people. My prayers are with Bessie's family. She will be misssed.
