Obituary of Charles Long
Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Charles Albert Long passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 1, 2011. He was 50 years old.
Charles was born on February 19, 1961 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Henry Lee and Alma Lee (Helt) Long. He was one of five children.
Charles grew up an attended school in Thornton, Colorado and graduated from Highland High school in 1979. He then went on to receive his associates degree at Colorado State University.
On August 28, 1982, Charles married Marilyn Jean Richardson in Burlington. To this union seven children were born; Jacob, Caleb, Naomi, Elias, Gideon, Ethan and Sarah.
Charles worked as a route delivery man for Frito Lay. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Burlington and had numerous hobbies including; playing the guitar, physical fitness, hunting, fishing and writing. He was also an avid reader and even taught himself how to ride a unicycle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Theresa Roath.
He is survived by his seven children; Jacob Long and his daughter Hannah of Burlington, Caleb Long of Fort Carson, Colorado, Naomi Long and her son Dylan, Elias, Gideon, Ethan and Sarah Long all of Burlington. He is also survived by one brother Wally Long and his wife Sylvia of Mount Vernon, Missouri, three sisters; Debbie Long of Thornton, Colorado, Carolyn Groninger and her husband Bob of Twisp, Washington and Chanise Long of Aurora, Colorado, his mother-in-law Delores Richardson of Burlington, two brother-in-laws Tim Richardson and Dave Richardson also of Burlington, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
