I don't know what to say about this. I only knew Charles via cyberspace where we gathered with others of like minds to discuss fitness and exchange humor. This loose affiliation was enough for me to feel close to him over the years. Charles was a man of peace and God. We will miss him there and mourn him and his wife, lost in this terrible tragedy. Rest in Peace my friend. My prayers are going out to you and for your fmaily. God Bless. -Josh, aka doomfarer 1, fellow Caneguru.

Charles, You were a wonderful man and a great father. I loved when I got to see you in the store filling the chips. You always had a smile on your face and were always talking good about your kids. We will all miss you very much.

To the family of Charles and Marilyn Long: I attended high school and had classes with Charles. I really enjoyed knowing Charles. He was one of the most intelligent people I have ever known. He was always very nice and extremely humble. I offer my deepest sympathy and hope that the grace of the lord will bring all of you peace and comfort now and in the future.

Many years ago, Charles was a dear friend to Steve. They spent much time learning and studying together the things of the Lord. We spent many evenings together as new parents. Charles made a GREAT pizza!
Your family will be in our prayers, and we trust that in the days ahead God will bring comfort and healing to your family.

From Milkman to Chipman - March 5, 11
Posted: March 5, 2011 | Last Revised: March 5, 2011
I was the Sinton Dairy milkman out here in eastern Colorado for many years. Charles and I developed a friendship over the years, even after I stoppewd being the milkman. We talked about the beautiful or nasty weather, our bosses who think that they know our route better than we do, our families, and our faith in God. I really believe that we looked forward to seeing each other every week.
When I had a bad car accident in 2006 with my wife dying in the accident and my body being pretty messed up, Charles sent me cards and called me while I was rewcovering from my injuries. He also made trips to my house to ask my sons how I was doing.
Charles was a good friend and I will miss him. I know that he and his wife are basking in the presence of God. My prayers will be with his family for years to come.
