I know they tell you in CNA training that you aren't allowed to pick favorites. But for Mary, I broke those rules. I looked forward to going to work because of her. When I saw that certain things were on the dinner or lunch menu, I let the kitchen staff know ahead of time because Mary was definitely going to want an egg sandwich instead.
Mary kept me in line - there is no doubt about that. When shifts were slow I would sneak into her room with a package of peanut butter cookies and we would watch the news together..until she would ask me what the heck I was doing and why I wasn't working! She told me the story of how she met her husband wearing "short shorts" at the amusement park. She always made me smile. Always. Today was my first day back at work since she passed, and the dining room was not the same without her. They served tomato soup and grilled cheese - she would have hated it. I miss you Mary Lou, you were an amazingly special woman that changed my life forever.

Sharon your mother always meant a lot to me - she was quite the character. I enjoyed taking care of her when she lived at home in Simla as well as after she moved to Prairie View. She loved to talk about your daughter and her kitties! May God Bless.
