Obituary of Kathie Kessler

Kathie Ranee Kessler, 55, formerly of Limon, Colorado passed away on December 21, 2011 in Alamo, California at the Bruns Hospice House.
Kathie was born in October 2, 1957 in Fargo, North Dakota. She grew up in Fargo attending and graduating from Fargo High School. In her younger years she lived in Texas and California.
Kathie moved to Lincoln County Colorado in November of 2000 where she worked for Monks Construction and S& H Decorating. One of her dreams was to be a nurse so she attended Morgan Community College in Limon from 2003 2004 graduating from MCC Campus in 2007 as an L.P.N. Kathie worked at Valley View Nursing Home in Fort Morgan, Colorado as she worked to achieve her R.N. degree. She then moved back to Limon and went to work at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Hugo, Colorado. Kathie was a great asset to the Emergency Preparedness and Response Team for Lincoln County and served as Coordinator. She greatly contributed to the success of the Public Health Departments emergency management processes. Kathie had a good sense of humor and loved being around others that she could joke with. Her voice in the office ignited excitement as she enjoyed being a team player. She always had a helping hand no matter what the question or concern was. She loved taking on new projects or programs and just ran with them. An important part of Kathies life was the Relay for Life events for the American Cancer Society. She included as many coworkers as possible in these events.
Kathie had the biggest heart she loved her daughter and son very much and enjoyed every moment they spent together. Even in her final moments she was caring, loving and courageous. She was a very accomplished seamstress and enjoyed helping others in any way possible. Kathie had a very adventurous spirit, she loved the great outdoors, boating, swimming, camping and especially fishing.
Kathie was preceded in death by one Brother Steven Mould.
She is survived by her Mother; Ester Slaughter of Grand Forks, ND; one son Michael (Kelly) Kessler of Discovery Bay, California; one Daughter Kristina Phillips of Louisville, Kentucky; Brothers Charles Mould of Grand Forks, ND; Tommy (Janna) Zehren and Children of Cache, OK; Sister Debbie (David) Kessler of Altoona, WI. Also surviving are two grandchildren and several relatives in North Dakota.
