Dear John and Shirley,
Just discovered this obituary, so you may never see my thoughts about Uncle Orville and Aunt Flo. I have wonderful fond memories of going out with Uncle Orville onto his farm! He really drove those dirt roads fast! When I was in the Coast Guard, I remember stopping for a visit while I was transferring from Oakland, California to Saint Louis, Missouri. During that visit he showed us a silo that was full of popcorn. He had raised it on the idea it would be a good sell, but I think the market had turned. Uncle Orville gave me a gunny sack full; it was the best tasting popcorn I have ever had! Went out a couple times as a kid with my parents (Marvin and Shirley) too. I remember first discovering Henry Mancini and the Hatari soundtrack in his basement when I was about 14. All of those memories have often made me wish I could have been one of his hands on the farm, helping to reap his wheat!
Sincerely,
Darryl Stoutsenberger

Orville was a wonderful man. He & my Dad--Kenny Scheierman--were good friends. I remember how Dad would talk to him for hours about old times. Jerry would choose him to be on his team playing golf in later years. He & Flo were good old fashioned folks. We have a lot of cherished memories of them.
