Obituary of Doug Deines
Douglas Samuel Deines, 72 of Limon, Colorado peacefully passed away March 10, 2014 into the loving arms of His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with his wife at his side.
Doug was born on October 17, 1941 in Hays, Kansas to Samuel and Anna (Krug) Deines one of three children. Doug graduated from Burlington, Colorado in 1959 then went on to University of Northern Colorado getting his Masters degree in Special Education.
Doug taught in Burlington, Karval, High Plains, Granada, Wray, Byers, Loretta Heights and Limon, Colorado. He also did substitute teaching for several schools. Doug was also the administrator and founder of the DDI agency in Burlington, Colorado. He really felt like Dynamic Dimensions was his calling because he had walked in the shoes of the handicapped after his near fatal car accident in 1965. This later led to Dougs coming to Christ, through Gods grace and not by anything he did. The prayer of Dougs life was Through me let there be kind words, a warm smile, a caring heart. Through me let there be willingness to listen and readiness to understand. Through me let there be dependability, steadfastness, trust, and loyalty. Through me let there be compassion, forgiveness, mercy, and love. Through me let there be every quality I find, O Lord, in Thee. Roy Lessin
He married Marilyn Sue Compton on September 20, 1980 in Burlington, Colorado. The couple enjoyed 33 years of marriage serving the Lord in any way they felt lead. They also enjoyed their dogs over those years.
Doug was always so happy and would light up to do Bible Study with anyone. He loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the residents at Carlas Cluster Care. Dougs devotion to the Gospel and to sharing the Word was his hearts desire. He felt an urgency to tell people Jesus is coming are you ready. He loved music and Christmas hymns, he thought that music was a wonderful way to share the message of Jesus with others. Doug would put scripture to music to help him memorize scripture. He shared a huge interest with his family in the Red Sox baseball team and Doug never gave up on his beloved CU Buffs.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents in 1988 and sister; Karen Rhoades who passed away in 2002.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Limon, Colorado and sister, Sharon (Steve) Rhodes from Walhalla, South Carolina. Doug is also survived by his nieces; Lori (Richard) Urie and their daughters; Kelsey, Emily and Audrey Urie of Arvada, Colorado, Tammy (Mike) Sharpes and their son Jose of Piedmont, South Carolina, and one nephew Mike (Mary) Rhoades and children; Devin, Aaron, Isaiah and Caleb of McKinney, Texas.
