I was so sorry to hear of Doug's death. I knew him since he lived in Flagler. I enjoyed conversations with him when I was working for the County Clerk. My sympathy to Marilyn.

We are saddened by Doug's passing, but thankful to have gotten to know him. I always enjoyed talking sports with Doug--Buffs, Broncos, Rockies, Badgers--he was very knowledgeable about them all. Occasionally, during the Greeting Time at church, Doug would get into conversation about sports and we'd forget to greet anybody. But, Doug always had a good word about God's provision in our lives. Seldom, if ever, did I visit with Doug but what he didn't speak of his love for Jesus Christ. He was a joy to know. Our love and prayers are with you Marilyn.

We were good friends of Doug and his parents in Flagler. I still remember Doug sharing the song "Gentle Shepherd, Come and Lead Us" with me along with Francis Schaeffer and L'Abri. He and his family have always been in our hearts!!!!B

Our thoughts and prayers are with you! We had not heard of any health issues and were totally shocked. Doug was always so friendly, thoughtful, and eager to visit. His service as a substitute teacher and as a teacher will be remembered. He touched many, many lives! Cherish your memories! May God comfort you at this time!

We are praying that our Savior will comfort and guide you not only now but in the days ahead. We only knew Doug a short time, but he made our Sunday's so sweet. Ever since we sat with you at the Thanksgiving dinner at church he made it a point to find us and greet us each Sunday after church. What a sweet servant of our Lord, with such a heart for others. We will miss him dearly, seeing his shining face coming towards us to just say hello, "God is so good" and have a blessed day!! We look forward to seeing him one day in glory. Jesus will wrap you in His loving arms and hold you tight. Memories are a gift of God, and we are so thankful for them. With love, Ralph and Dawn Brent
