Obituary of Robert Miller
R. Wayne Miller, 73, passed away in his home at Watkins, Colorado, July 9, 2014.
He was born in Goodland, Kansas on May 11, 1941. He was raised on a farm in Vona, Colorado with his two brothers and attended school there.
Wayne moved to Denver for work, where he was employed at the Samsonite Corporation, while attending school at CU and became a plastics engineer. Samsonite is where he met his wife of 52 years, Barbara Ringdahl.
Wayne and Barbara were married in 1962 and later had a son and daughter. He moved on to pipe manufacturing and became a Vice President at Continental Plastics. They built a home in Watkins in 1971, while working in town and raised a cattle herd there with his family, which he enjoyed. Wayne also enjoyed playing golf and traveling. He later returned to his roots and became a fulltime farmer and rancher in 1986 to the present.
Wayne served on the board of directors for the American Pride COOP in Brighton and the Bennett Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara, son Stephen, daughter Lisa (Ricky) Barber, grandchildren Josh, Levi and Reese Barber, brothers; Dave (Karen) and Steve (Danise) Miller.
Wayne was strong, kind, and a good friend to many, he will be dearly missed.
