My grandfather - June 22, 2015
Posted: June 23, 2015 | Last Revised: June 23, 2015
Robert wayne miller was my grandfather and he went by wayne. The one year anniversary is coming up July 9th 2015. It was not mentioned that he was a very important man in the obituary, not just in our lives but the world. Not only was he on the main team of creating the very first suitcase on wheels with samsonite, but he also "smuggled" a Lego mold into Canada for another business opportunity. The company he worked for thought the Lego was a waste of time. So they sold that mold that my grandfather presented. The legos were a big success. He had changed the world. With maybe silly stuff, but it was an impact. I live my grandpa dearly. The last time I saw him was in the shop, with his straw hat, smiling at me, and saying goodbye. It was all a shock when he was gone. And it still is. He is very missed and very much loved.

I am sorry to learn of Wayne's passing. I worked with Wayne on leasing some property to him to farm. I always found him to be very likeable, honest and fair. He reminds me of many of the farmers that I grew up around. I really enjoyed talking to him and sharing a lunch or two with him at Lulu's. I will remember him fondly.

Wayne was a kind and helpful person, a true "salt of the earth" person. I have enjoyed his generosity of the use of the North Pasture for riding (I board at J Bar 4) for many years and am very appreciative and respectful of the privilege. God bless and comfort you, his family.

Wayne, Barb and Lisa were always great to me when I was a kid. Wayne taught me so much, I always loved working in the shop with Wayne, he picked up so much from him. Not just about work, but how to treat friends, neighbors, and anyone else who may come along. As I got older and our visits became more irregular, I always felt welcome at his place. I will really miss you Wayne. I can't thank you enough for what you had done for me. I'm sorry I didn't get to say good-bye.

I'm a longtime boarder at J Bar 4 Ranch, across the street from the Millers, and I'm so sad to hear this news. Wayne was always so sweet to me. I was out a couple of years ago with Sun and Punkin looking for a grazing spot along the road, and he was coming down the road in his truck. He passed by his driveway and pulled up next to me and told me I should feel free to let the girls eat along his driveway, because there was plenty of grass that they would like. Such a kind man--always ready with a wave and a smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm a boarder at J Bar 4 Ranch. I'm still so sad to hear of Wayne's passing. The week before he passed he had stopped his truck to give me a hard time. I was just in his pasture roping and dragging logs and was on the side of the road trying to get my horse to go up to some Angus in a pasture (which looked rather animated). He saw my rope hanging my saddle and looked at me and laughed and said "are you a cowgirl?" he was so ornery like that! I'll for sure miss his teasing and will be always grateful for his generosity in letting us ride in his pasture. I'm so glad after reading his life's story that he did want he loved so much, taking care of his "girls." My thoughts and prayers to all of you.

I board my horses at J Bar 4 Ranch across the street from Wayne's residence. I would occasionally pass Wayne in the north pasture while riding. He would always stop and say hello, he was a very nice man. I want to say thank you to him for letting us ride our horses on his land. My deepest sympathy is with his family.

Wayne was very good to me and my son Bob. He took Bob under his wings and taught him so much about farming. My heart goes out to Barb and the family. Wayne will truly be missed.
