Memories..
When Robert Palmer, Robert Elliott, and I were boys, we would ride between our families' ranches, about 15 miles or so. Robert Elliott rode a big black, long legged mare that out walked Robert Palmer's little grey gelding and my little black one-eyed mare. We would spend the night at one or the other of our families' ranches, and then ride on the next day. Once, we heeled...one footed a cow.. and it took us a couple miles to get it off. We never done that again. Just think, there were no phones for us to let our parents know where we were.
