Obituary of Robert P. Brush
Mr. Robert “Bob” Page Brush, 76, of Genoa, Colorado, died peacefully in his home with family by his side on November 25, 2018.
Bob was born in Huntington, New York, in 1942 to John and Autumn Brush. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna (originally from Limon.) He also leaves behind two sons: Sam (Maura) of Long Island, New York, and Page of Frisco, Colorado, who will carry on his legacy. Grandchildren Violet, Hudson, and Lorelei. Also surviving him is his twin brother Richard “Dick,” other brother Johnny and sister Mary Ann. Bob will be remembered by many cousins, nieces, especially Beth, nephews, dedicated care givers, and an incredible circle of friends.
Bob was an avid sports fan and athlete. After graduating from Huntington High School in New York, he attended Denver University on a full football and baseball scholarship. After college, he continued his baseball career playing for the Frisco Giants in California.
Mr. Brush was a proud military Veteran after serving six years in the Army Reserves.
Bob began his teaching career at Kearney Jr. High School in Commerce City, Colorado.
He returned to Long Island, New York where he taught at Finley Jr. High and Huntington High School for over thirty years.
Bob had an enormous impact on the students he taught, the athletes he coached, and the colleagues he worked with whom many of became his life-long friends.
After retirement, Bob returned to Colorado where he treasured his home in Genoa.
Bob was known for his passion for life; whether it be on the water or in the mountains, on the golf course or his ranch. He welcomed every new adventure with exuberance and excitement. He lived his life to the fullest every single day. His unique sense of humor will always be remembered.
