Lifelong Cheyenne Wells resident Jack Daniel Eden, known to everyone as J.D., was born January 2, 1991 in Lamar, Colorado to James Bruce and Cindy (Gemmill) Eden.
J.D. was a very likable kid, enjoying life like every teenager should. He loved his Mom and Dad and his younger brother Cody. He even enjoyed the hard (but lovable) times his sisters Candi and Brandi would give him and he was always quick to remind them he was no longer their âlittleâ? brother and could easily take them in any wrestling match.
Known as âWhiskeyâ? to many of his friends, J.D. loved most every sport, especially football and baseball. He was a dedicated and hard working young man who never forgot the importance of a smile and you rarely saw him without one. At family gatherings he would always take time to play with his younger nieces, nephews and cousins. J.D. mowed yards in the summer time, he enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his friends. He loved making and racing remote control cars. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. It seemed J.D. could grab a stick off a tree, put some line and bait on it and catch the biggest fish, he just had the touch. J.D. was a sophomore at Cheyenne Wells High School and he also enjoyed spending time being a part of the Christian Church Youth Group.
On November 18 J.D. sustained injuries in a vehicle accident just outside Cheyenne Wells and the following day, November 19, at the Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colorado with his loving family by his side, J.D. died from the injuries he received in the accident.
Preceding J.D. in death were his Grandfather Daniel Gemmill, Great-Grandma LeLea Turner, his Aunt Debra Gemmill and his Great-Aunt Peggy Breitenbach.
Left to cherish his young active life are his parents Bruce and Cindy Eden and brother Cody of the home in Cheyenne Wells, CO. His sisters Candice and husband Brian of Cheyenne Wells, CO and Brandi Bequera and husband Sergio of Burlington, CO. Also surviving are his maternal Grandmother Patty Gemmill of Cheyenne Wells, CO and paternal Grandparents Jack and Jimmie Lee Eden of Campo, CO. J.D. is also survivied by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral services for J.D. were held at the Cheyenne Wells High School Gymnasium. Pastor Mike Lewis of the Cheyenne Wells Christian Church officiated. Burial followed in the Fairview Cemetery, Cheyenne Wells, CO.
A memorial fund has been established in J.D.âs name and may be left at either the Eastern Colorado Bank or the Kit Carson State Bank both in Cheyenne Wells.
J.D. will be missed by his loving family and all of the many special friends he made throughout his short life.
