JD was simply an incredible young man. He was kind, considerate, happy-go-lucky, hard-working and tremendously friendly. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand without complaint. (And let me not forget to mention, he was a Broncos' fan!) He was like a brother to my daughters --- I know they always looked forward to visiting JD and Cody. The loss of such an awesome nephew/cousin has left all of us heart-broken. Without a doubt, the world would be a better place if we all tried just a little to live our lives as JD lived his! God Bless You, JD --- keep watch over all of us!

MY GRANDSON J.D. WAS THE BEST GRANDSON THAT A GRANDMOTHER COULD HOPE FOR. I LOVED HIM SO DEARLY. J.D. WAS A GREAT HELP TO ME. HE MOWED MY YARD EVERY WEEK. HE TOOK OUT THE TRASH FOR ME EVERY WEEK, AND HE WOULD DO ANYTHING I ASKED OF HIM NO MATTER HOW TIRED HE WAS. I GET GRUMPY SOMETIMES FROM THE STRESS OF LIFE, AND J.D. COULD ALWAYS MAKE ME SMILE AND LAUGH AND KNEW EXACTLY WHAT TO SAY TO ME, TO PUT ME IN A BETTER MOOD. I LOVED ATTENDING J.D.'S SCHOOL ACTIVITIES, ESPECIALLY HIS SPORTING EVENTS. HE MADE HIS GRANDMA SO PROUD OF HIM. I MISS MY GRANDSON TREMENDOUSLY AND THE PAIN HURTS ME DEEPLY, BUT I KNOW THAT SOMEDAY, I WILL BE WITH MY WONDERFUL GRANDSON IN HEAVEN TO SHARE THE WONDERFUL TIMES, LIKE WE HAD ON EARTH. I LOVE YOU J.D. LOVE GRANDMA PAT.

Bruce, Cindy, and Cody, throughout the course of this year, JD and I became very close and I realized how I had missed him in Junior High. He was always smiling and I always had the best of times with him. I cannot imagine what you and your family is going through. JD was someone that no one can ever replace. I have a huge hole in my heart because i feel like he was taken away from us. I do know that in time, the hole will turn from mourning, to great memories and laughs. I want to be there for your family and Cody as much as I can. I loved JD very much and i will really miss him. I pray for him and your family every day and I know that things will get better. I love you guys!!! Casey Mitchek

MY NEPHEW J.D. WAS A GREAT KID. HE WAS VERY STUDIOUS IN THE CLASSROOM WITH AWESOME GRADES AND HE WAS ALSO A VERY GOOD ATHLETE. I KNEW J.D. FOR HIS FRECKLES AND HIS BIG SMILE. HE WAS ALSO A HARD WORKER. I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE DOING WORK ON MY MOM'S HOUSE A SUMMER AGO AND J.D. HAD JUST FINISHED MOWING SEVERAL YARDS IN OVER 100 DEGREE WEATHER. MY BROTHER AND I WERE WORKING ON THE DECK, AND J.D. HELPED US AND WORKED HIS BUTT OFF WITHOUT EVEN BEING TOLD. MOST KIDS AT THAT AGE WOULD OF HAD TO BE TOLD AND THEN BELLYACHED AFTERWARDS, BUT NOT J.D. HE WAS ALSO A KIND HEARTED PERSON WHO WOULD GO THE EXTRA MILE TO HELP ANYONE IN NEED. HIS SENSE OF HUMOR WAS SECOND TO NONE. I MISS MY NEPHEW MORE THAN ANYONE WILL EVER KNOW. LIFE IS SOMETIMES UNFAIR, AND THIS IS ONE OF THOSE TIMES, BUT I KNOW J.D. WOULD WANT US ALL TO MOVE ON WITH LIFE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS DIFFICULT. I LOVE YOU J.D. , AND I KNOW YOU ARE WATCHING US FROM HEAVEN WITH YOUR FRECKLES AND BIG SMILE.
