Dear Peggy and family - I've already sent a note to you, Peggy, but I wanted to add my condolences to this guest book. All the sisters here at the monastery have been praying for your dad, and for the family. May God give you His special strength at this time. Know I keep all of you in my prayers.

I have many memories of my Uncle Darrell. As a young city boy from Colorado Springs, I got to stay my Aunt and Uncle for a couple weeks in the summer and learn all about a farmer's life. I have lots of respect for how Uncle Darrell got up so early every single morning, rain, shine, snow or wind and began his long day as a faithful servant to his family. I can remember the smell of Marlboro cigarettes long ago and how he always drank iced tea. I remember him always wearing a baseball cap. I remember him smiling and laughing at us city folk who had a lot to learn. I can also remember the many times we'd go pheasant hunting and how fun it was to hang on for dear life when he was driving as we chased down a coyote! I have many more wonderful memories of my time spent with you Uncle Darrell. A heart-felt thanks for all those memories. May heaven have a nice cap, cold iced tea, a few coyotes, and a nice powerful truck waiting for you! --Mark Miller
