Dear Roger, Judy, Susan, Linda, and James, My condolences to you. I always enjoyed visiting your family, and still remember the one time we traveled to see you in South Dakota in 1963. That was the time Susan and Linda fell off the horse and broke their arms. I was just reading 1 Corinthians 15, about the resurrection. May looking forward to the resurrection give you comfort at this time. Your cousin, Dale Houg

I haven't known Doris for a very long time but she was such a pleasure to know and visit with. She had such a wonderful sense of humor and could see something funny in every situation! I never heard her complain, she gave her time and energy to help others without expecting anything in return. I know God has gained a very special angel.

We thank God for Grandma's example set before us as she lived her life for Jesus daily. As a granddaughter I can only smile when I think of the joy Grandma gave to me in every loving touch and spoken word. We will all deeply miss her love, smiles, and encouragement. I pray that I will continue to follow in that example with my family. Jesus met Grandma on the floor of her kitchen while she was scrubbing away and accepted His gift of Salvation with simple faith. Life changed immediately for her and her family and I thank God daily for the legacy God has helped build in Grandma and Grandpa's family. May we never forget what was started many years ago. May God Get all the Glory! Cammie

ten years ago our family took our "big tripa?. Immediately following Jim's graduation from NAU and before full-time employment, we thought this might be the only chance we'd have to do something so adventurous ... at least until retirement. We signed up to home school our two oldest, and, with baby Devorah in tow, set out in September, 1997 on what was to become a 3-month adventure! Meeting wonderful, warm, big-hearted people like Pete and Doris was one reason we were gone so long. Our first stop was in Okaton, to visit a man who had given a home to one of our dogs. We pulled in to town around 10:00 PM; but instead of finding Paul, we met Pete. Talking for a while, we realized that, not only did we know his son James, but we shared our Christian faith. They invited us to park our trailor and spend the night. We spent the whole weekend! For the next several years, it was always a pleasure to stop by Okaton or Murdo on our way across the state, renewing acquaintances; or having them drop in to see us, or running into them by chance at Rainbow Bible Ranch, a Gideons convention or other faith-based events in Rapid City. Pete and Doris, we look forward to picking up where we left off, but in heaven next time instead of somewhere else on this earth. Blessings to all your wonderful family. Jim, Laura, Stephanie, Michael and Devorah Collins

Condolences to the family. You are in my prayers. Doris was always such a great example of a Prov. 31 woman. Her kids are a great testament to a praying mother. I spent many a meal in her home playing with Jimmy and hanging out. It was a honor to have known her. I'm sure her smile is lighting up heaven right now.

In memory of the best mother I could have had. One who loved me unconditionally, prayed for me, believed in me and who pointed me to her Savior. You will always be in my heart and I look forward to seeing you again in heaven.
