May our Lord continually bless your family. As a kid I met Katy when she worked at the gas plant in the early 1950's. Little did I know her youngest brother Donnie (now known as Don) and I would be best friend in Jr. high while collecting baseball cards and Sr. high in sports. To all the family, including the grandchilden, please come back for homecoming on 10/1/10 and 10/2/10. Wouldn't it be great if all the younger generations could just flash back 50 or 60 years ago and see grandma as a young lady at the gas plant? Then they wouldn't wonder, what was a gas plant? We will have the Vona memorabilia display at homecoming.

Katie was a wonderful person. She was such a joy to work with at the school. Every kids has wonderful memories of katie taking out sticker and putting band-aids on. She never said a bad word about anyone and always saw the positive in everyone. Katie was an angel to all.

Katie
What a special lady!
Your humor
Was a warm murmur
For all to hear.
Your large, warm heart
Gave many a start
At becoming who they should to be;
Like a fine cup of tea.
I remember the visits,
and long lovely chats,
the towels and turtle to make my house a home.
The beautiful memories with you,
will be our forever gift,
To carry us through
Now, that you are at peace.
Rest well, and know that you were a light
unto many a life.
We will hold a spot in our hearts for you
and our memories of times spent together.
Thank you Katie,
and know that YOU are loved.

Some of us are Blessed with a wonderful Mother but I have been Blessed to have had two. Katy is a women that words can not even come close to describing. She did not believe in being negative or complaining about anything or anybody. I will cherish every minute I shared with her.
