Obituary of Robert Elliott
Robert Lee Elliott, 81, of Karval, CO passed away on July 06, 2010 in Hugo, CO at the Lincoln Community Hospital.
Robert was born on August 21, 1928 at the ranch fourteen miles east of Karval, Colorado. to Ernest Jefferson and Verbena (White) Elliott one of seven children. Robert grew up on the ranch that he worked his lifetime riding many horses and working many cattle. He was schooled through the 8th grade in a one room school house.
Robert married Erma Hartelroad in Clayton, New Mexico on October 12, 1948 and the couple was blessed with six children.
Robert was an outdoors man he loved fishing and hunting elk and deer around the Eagle area. When he was young he rode bulls and saddle broncos in rodeos.
Robert was a charter member of the Lions Club holding the office of Secretary for seven years. He was also a member of the Lincoln County & Colorado Cattlemans Association, Prairie soil conservation, districts water development protection, vice chairman of the game and fish, Lincoln County Fair Board, Fair manager for over 10 years and secretary of Tri County Centennial.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, brother; Elvin (Bud), sisters Virginia and Lucy one infant son Ronald Elliott and one granddaughter Alicia Nestor.
Robert is survived by his wife Erma, daughters Maxine (Mike) Miller of Cheyenne, WY; Janet (Mike) Ream of Greeley, CO; Linda (Gary) Nestor of Gypsum, CO; Sons Rick (Dayla) Elliott of Sugar City,CO; Russell (Dianna) Elliott of Karval, CO, three sisters Ina Whittlesey of Calhan, CO; Bessie Bombeck of Grand Island, NE; Dorothy Rice of Denver, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jeff Miller, Angela Miller-Soden, Brian Ream, Tom Ream, Amy Nestor-Boles, Corey Nestor, Richard (Blake) Elliott, Amber Barrat, Misty Cotterman, Roy Elliott, Ryan Elliott, Keith Crow, Cody Crow, Cory Crow, Lane Elliott ,16 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
