My sincerest thanks for Floyd Hooper's heroics sacrifice and service to our country. As a 68 year retired Navy veteran my childhood is full of memories of family and friend who have valiantly served our nation in peace and in war. The memories of hose who answered the call, some never to return, their sacrifice will not be forgotten there loss is heart wrenching and leave permanent scars. Rest in peace my brother..

It took awhile, but we got you back home, your brother Lewis my grandpa and my daddy William never forgot you. I never forgot you. Someday I will talk to you about being a soldier which I am, once one always one. I can go in peace now knowing we got yhou back home, gpa lewis loved you so, he told me get him back between alot of people and a lot of years it happened. We want to extend our condolences and at the same time we know how elated the family is to have him home - it is truly a miracle. We buried my uncle Pat last year after his remains were identified - he too was captured and died in Korea. May God bless all of the family of Floyd Hooper!

As historian for the 24th Infantry Division Assn, I offer my deep condolensces, and also joyful greetings, on the loss and return of Corporal Hooper. The circumstances of the 19th Infantry's fight when he was captured were very difficult, as was the aftermath during which Corporal Hooper was held as a prisoner. God bless.

On behalf of the approximately 2,100 members of the 24th Infantry Division Association, I wish to extend our collective condolances to the Hooper family, and to express our own feelings of cloture at the return of Cpl Hooper's remains.
I also wish to express similar thoughts as a former member of the 19th Infantry Regiment, E Company, in Korea in 1951-52.
It would be so nice if the remaining approximately 8,000 missing GIs in Korea could be located, especially the 1,600 who were buried without even a marker to show where they lie outside POW Camp #5 on the Yalu River in North Korea.

I joined the Navy in Oct 1948. WE provided close air support for the Army & the Marines. My pilots from the USS Princeton and those soldiers with boots on the ground were my heros. Although I left Korea before he got there I often think about those that were left as POW's. I send my blessings to his family.
