Obituary of Ronald Lueck
Ronald Gale Lueck of Stratton Colorado, passed away Sunday February 7th 2016 peacefully at home, after a courageously fought battle with cancer.
Ron was born the second of five boys on March 25, 1945 to Gale and Eunice Lueck in Sisseton, South Dakota.
He attended high school in Littleton, Colorado and in 1963 married Barbara L. Stucker. They were blessed with three children, Kevin, Leslie and Christopher and together they lived in Denver until moving to Stratton in 1975.
Ron owned and operated his own business, Ron Lueck Concrete, for over 40 years and many of his employees and clients became lifelong friends. He took great pride in a job well done and taught his sons the trade.
After his divorce in 1995, he began a new relationship with April Sheppard and they were companions until his death.
Ron had many passions throughout his life. He was an avid collector of coins, Spurs, cars, and more. Nothing made him happier than a good day of fishing, or his camping trips with April.....except maybe a day of stock car racing at the local tracks. He also lived his Sunday's of watching NASCAR racing with his brothers.
Ron's love of car racing first began with drag racing in Littleton, Colorado. He drive a B street roadster fir several years and loved it. Later, Ron was part of both sons pit crews when they drove race cars, and he also supported his nephew and grandchildren when they raced. Time together working on cars, and at the track were cherished.
Ron is survived by April Sheppard, his brothers Richard (Eloise), Virgil, Junior, and Jerry (Shorty). His three children Kevin (Trisha), Leslie, and Chris. 9 Granchildren Jordan Miller, Taylor Lueck, Danielle Lueck, Kyle Lueck , Brittany Denny, Brett Pottorff, Dylan Lueck, Tori Lueck, And Tycie Lueck. 11 great Granchildren , Kayden Denny, Kimber Denny , Kyson Denny, Kenzlee Denny , Blaine Pottorff, Bentley Pottorff, Broxcen Pottorff, Taytem Arnold, Hayden Arnold, Asher Perry, and Abigail Perry.
He was a loving father and friend to many. He will be eternally missed. Family and friends may view the online obituary and leave condolences at www.lovefuneralhomes.com. There will be no formal memorial service.
