Obituary of Betty Sandersfeld
Betty Jean Sandersfeld passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Hugo, Colorado. Betty was born on April 23, 1931 in Axtell, Kansas to William and Sue Huls. They lived in Dalhart, Texas prior to moving to Littleton, Colorado in 1941 because of the Dust Bowl.
She married Donald L. Sandersfeld in 1947. They were married 54 years, moving to Limon, Colorado in 1976. Her faith was the center of her life, involved with Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church Ladies Sodality. Betty was a homemaker and had a passion for sewing, crocheting, bingo, playing pinochle, and ice cream. She made cinches for horses and helped run the family business for Hi Plains Engineering and a pilot car service. She also enjoyed driving the bus for Limon school for 20 years.
She is survived by her sister Ella Bowman and her children and grandchildren, Son Larry Sandersfeld, Cindy, Christie, and Erica, Daughter Diana Gray(Robert), Fred, Daughter Sharon Magers(Joe), Kristin, and Kim(Trevor), Son Mike Sandersfeld, Jamie(Adam), Daughter Debbie Fribbs(Mark) Tyler( Lindsey), Derek, and Sarah, Son Rick Sandersfeld(Patty) Brianne(Shane) Justine(Tyson) Travis(Whitney) and Braden. Great Grandsons Tyler, Payson, and Evan.
God blessed her with the comfort of staying in her own home until she passed away. She will be greatly missed, but we know she's in heaven watching over us and as she would say often “And That’s The Way It Goes”.
