Obituary of Chris Mitchek
Biography
Waxahachie, Texas and former Cheyenne Wells, Colorado resident Chris Lee Mitchek passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 17, 2011 as a result of a single vehicle accident.
Chris was born on June 27, 1960 in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado to Glen Dale and Viola (Ortiz) Mitchek. He was the ninth of thirteen children.
Chris grew up and attended school in Cheyenne Wells up through the 10th grade. He had a love for cattle and horses and spent his life as a cowboy.
On January 1, 2002, he moved to Waxahachie, Texas and continued doing what he loved so much helping his brother Kelly on the farm again working with cattle and horses and helping his brother brand cattle. He was a true cowboy at heart.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Baby Joseph Mitchek, 2 nephews Zac and Abe Mitchek, one niece Holly Jo Mitchek, and one brother-in-law Tom Potter.
He is survived by his fiance Sandy McConnell of Waxahachie, Texas, brothers and sisters; James (Patricia) Mitchek of Kit Carson, Colorado, Glen Mitchek of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, Henry Mitchek of Sultan, Washington, Donna Potter of Ontario, Oregon, Charles Mitchek of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado, Carol (Steve) Hamann of Garden City, Kansas, Jeff Mitchek of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jack (Becky) Mitchek of Goodland, Kansas, Vivian (Greg) Schreck of Peyton, Colorado, Casey (Judi) Mitchek of Burlington, Colorado, Sam Mitchek of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado and Kelly (Lilah) Mitchek of Waxahachie, Texas. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
