I last Auntie Shirley at an "Atkins Family Reunion" several years ago. I'm so happy I got to see her again, she was very dear to me. My sympathies to her family. Isn't it amazing the number of lives she helped to create? Now she is in Heaven with her Father, who must be "very pleased" with his daughter.

Well where do I begin? My grandma Mimi and I always had a good time together. I'm going to miss our trips to the casino where it was just her and I, sneaking, when no one knew..."Bry, let me borrow another hundred, this machine is going to win." I'm going to miss stopping by her apartment after work, bringing her cigarettes and a mexican pizza from taco bell. I never minded doing stuff for my Mimi because we always had fun. No matter how broke she was she would always treat me, eventhough I always had money. That's one thing about my Mimi doll, she would give you the shirt off her back and her last penny. She was the most honest person in the world as well. I can't believe she is gone. It seems like it all happend so fast. I can remember our last conversation where she was telling me that she wanted to get out of that bed and hit the casino. I'm so happy that my last words to her were, "I love you." I will truly miss you Mimi Dolly. You were the best grandma a guy could have. Life won't be the same without you. I think about you everyday as little things remind me of you. I hope/pray that we'll see eachother agin someday. I love you!

My dear Aunt Shirley...I hadn't seen her since I was a small child and I saw her again a couple of years ago at a family reunion. She and I had so much fun! She also reminds me of my Dad (her brother) Now they are together in Heaven! Much love to her family in their time of sorrow!

JODY, DIANE AND BRIAN,
CINDY AND I ARE SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS AND WILL KEEP SHIRLY IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER. LIFE IS LIKE SANDS FALLING THROUGH AN HOUR GLASS. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN THE LAST PIECE OF SAND WILL FALL THROUGH. BUT WHEN IT DOES THERE IS A WEALTH OF LIFE THAT WE HAVE HAD TO HOLD CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS. THIS IS NOT A TIME FOR SADNESS OF LOSS, BECAUSE WE KNOW SHE IS IN A BETTER PLACE NOW. IT IS A TIME TO REJOYICE THE TIME WE HAD TO SPEND WITH HER AND HOW SHE MADE OUR LIVES SO MUCH FULLER TO TOLERATE THE BAD TIMES. REMEMBER HOW SHE LOVED TO SPEND HER TIME WITH YOU AND HOW SHE LAUGHED. HER TRIPS TO THE CASINO'S,WATCH YOUR SON GROW AND REJOICING IN IT. HOW SHE LOVED YOU JODY AND GAVE YOU LIFE AND A HOME. THESE ARE THE TREASURES THAT SHE LEFT WITH YOU, NEVER FORGET THEM.

I am privileged to have 49 years of Mimi memories. As her oldest grandchild, I was the one to name her "Mimi" and it stuck. She was a beautiful woman who had so much love to give. I will remember the sugar cookies baking as I sat in my rocking chair and watched. I now share that legacy with my own grandson, who was blessed to know his Mimi Dollie too. I will miss you,Mimi, but know that you are in the loving arms of your family.
I love you, and am confident that I will see you again.
