Irene was a beautiful, talented, and gracious lady. She was known as a wonderful homemaker. Buss once told us that her home baked bread was the best, and he was probably right.
Sincere condolences to all the family.

My History with my grandmother. - October 5, 2011
Posted: October 5, 2011 | Last Revised: October 5, 2011
As one fact, I will always remember my Grandmother Irene as being a Christian woman who loved God and anything that revolved around the gospel with every bone in her body. Another truth is, she is the only grandparent that I ever really knew from a domesticated viewpoint, to whom I've conversed with and have spent the most time around in my maturity years. In addition to that, she was the only grandparent I've lived close to for the first twenty years of my life.
As far back as I can remember, during my childhood, both my sister and I went right next door to visit her for a number of years every day as long as she was in the state, then eventually, it became a few days a week. Then, any of us came to visit her, whenever we wanted to, under her consent. I can remember that I listened to music with her in my preteen years, then came my teen years, I helped her do yard work, such as garden stuff and trimming up bushes. She was very much a gardener, and always liked being able to be outside, which was one reason she would always want to go to Mississippi, then Florida, to stay with her oldest daughter and her husband for so many Winters in her senior years. She discontinued going out of the state by the year 2005. The last time I was ever in Florida where she and the ones she stayed with were, was actually in the same winter which was the last time she ever flew out of the state. The last five years of her life was spent living in Limon, Lincoln, Colorado, USA.
I thank her for being a grandmother who had as much love for me along with anyone else as she did, and my compassionate gratitude goes out to the ones who took the very most care of her, such as my two aunts. I am pleased to know that God has taken her to be with Him in Heaven at a right timing, and in the right way. That along with the best of care in which she did attain from my two aunts in all of her last number of years living with them are pleasing circumstances in which I will never forget.

Jerry,Susan,Charity and Jeremy,
I couldn't come to your mom's service and I am so sorry about that. She was a ray of sunshine every time I saw her. What a sweet precious face that matched her personality. She is now receiving her great rewards of a life well lived. My best to your whole family.
God bless.

I'll always remember Aunt Irene as having the kindest heart and sweetest nature of anyone I knew. She was so lovely in so many ways and the Bishop family was fortunate indeed that Uncle Buss married her. My dad, Pete, her brother-in-law, was especially lucky to receive her special care for several years before his death. Thank you, Aunt Irene. My sincere sympathy to Ginger, Dargie, Char and Jerry and their families May God always be with you and you with Him. Love, Carol
