Obituary of Bonnie Thompson
Bonnie Lynne (Randolph) Thompson age 48 of Limon, Colorado passed away peacefully at her home in her familys arms after a hard fought and courageous battle with breast cancer. Although Bonnie lost her battle with cancer, her life shows us all that the physical body may be destroyed by this disease, but it can not take your spirit or the legacy that you leave behind.
Bonnie was born October 4, 1962 in Hugo, Colorado, the daughter of Samuel Sam Edwin and Thora Lynne (Nickell) Randolph. She grew up and attended grade school in Limon and graduated from Limon High School in 1981. Bonnie was an exceptional athlete and was an All-State Volleyball player at Limon High where she helped her team win several State Volleyball Championships. She would attend college at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado where she played volleyball.
On February 14, 1989, she was united in marriage to David Carl Thompson, Jr. at the United Methodist Church in Limon, Colorado. To this union was born their son, Cole David Thompson who was the pride and joy to Bonnie and Carl. They shared over twenty two years of marriage before Carl lost his battle with cancer on August 24, 2008. Bonnie was very positive and hard working woman who took much pride in her work. She worked many years for Lincoln County as Driver License Examiner before taking a position at Lincoln community Hospital becoming head Materials Manager and Scrub Tech for many years where she was currently employed. She was a dedicated worker at her jobs while she also helped her husband Carl on the family ranch which she took much care and pride in. Although her jobs varied, her most precious work was being a devoted mom and wife to Cole and Carl who were both the love of her life.
Bonnie definitely lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed snow mobiling and dirt
biking with her son, Cole and all of their friends. Of course, Bonnie being the
athlete she was, played for various volleyball, softball and bowling leagues for many years. She was a member of the Community of Christ in Limon and a
member of the P.P.B. Car Club. Bonnie had a big warm heart and an undying love for her family and friends. She had such a positive attitude and with her smile and her laugh, she made every room she entered come alive. Above all, she understood better than anybody that all the trials and tribulations that she has had to endure, life is a brief gift from God, and that it should be enjoyed to its fullest with joy and love right up to the very end. Bonnie will be greatly missed by the many friends and family she loved so much. Her spirit, her love and her legacy she leaves all of us will be expressed in everybodys daily lives forever...
