Obituary of Elwood "Bud" Johnson
Elwood (Bud) Johnson 87, died at PaxVilla Hospice Care in McAllen, Texas on March 17, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents Forest Leonidas (Lee) and Cora (Johnson) Johnson, Bud was also preceded by his six sisters; Goldie, Bessie, Ruth, Blanche, Vera and Ruby and a daughter Sherrie Lynn.
Bud was born on March 25, 1928 in Kenton, Ohio. He went to several one room schools and went to Kenton High School. In 1943 Bud worked for Erie railroad for 15 years before being drafted in the Army. He did his basic training at Camp Polk then serving in Osaka, Japan for 8 months. When Bud returned he worked for the railroad again.
Bud moved to Colorado where he met Sharon A. Chubbuck and they were married on May 1, 1959. To this marriage they had two children Jackie Jay and Gala Rena.
Bud went to work for the State Highway Department and retired after 25 years, in 1987.
Bud and Sharon spent 29 wonderful years in Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ann (Chubbuck) Johnson, daughter Mary Ross of Spring, Texas, son, Jack (Sharon) Johnson of Arriba, Colorado, daughter Gala Rena Johnson (Robert) Bowser. Bud is also survived by two grandkids; Dylan and Shelby, several other relatives and many friends.
