Obituary of Twyla Foos
Twyla L. Foos passed away on October 27, 2011 at Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington, Colorado. She was 88 years old.
Twyla was born on November 17, 1922 at Wheatland, Wyoming to Dillen and Velma (Robinson) Koons. She was raised in the Rock River, Laramie and Wheatland area. She graduated from Wheatland High School in 1940.
On June 2, 1940 she and John Foos Jr. were united in marriage. To this union two children were born, James Loyd Foos and Linda Kay Foos. They farmed at Wheatland until 1970, when they moved to Burlington and farmed.
In Wheatland, Twyla was the secretary of Wheatland High School and worked at Wheatland Rural Electric Association. She was a member of The Congregational Church and served as head Sunday school teacher and was chairman of the Fellowship Committee for many years. She was on a bowling team and was secretary of the League, she loved the Colorado Rockies Baseball games, and she was a State Fair award winning knitter who loved to sew and oil paint. She took pride in her home and yard. Above all, the most precious thing she cherished was her family.
Family left to cherish her memory are: her husband, John Foos; son James (Kathy) Foos; daughter, Linda Foos; grandchildren, James Loyd (Kim) Foos Jr.; Steven Mark (Peggy) Foos and Cynthia Ann Foos; great-grandchildren: Nathan James Foos; Trevor David Foos and Ericka Katelyn Foos; children of Mark and Peggy; sister-in-law Jean Koons of Casper, WY, and nieces and nephews.
Preceded her in death were her parents; brothers, John and George Koons, sister Lorraine Petrie and nephew Kenneth Koons.
Pallbearers were her family, and Honorary Pallbearers were her Great-Grandchildren.
May she rest in peace.
