Dear Wilbur: It is almost time for Thanksgiving and you always came to eat and visit with us...even to Sugar City where Francie lived.###Remember the lambs the twins and Adam took to put on their goats?###You and Donny went to Fort Collins to do your knees.###I will forever remember how you would come and visit w/ me when I lost Donny. At 5:30 a.m. we would talk on the phone so I would know the tempuature and the weather at Punkin Center. What a wonderful friend and neighbor you've been. Rest in peace. We all loved you.

He's just an old time rancher
who's known both joy and strife
And we feel pretty lucky
to have him in our life.
He's raised a lot of things
cattle, sheep and hogs,
But he holds a special place
for funny looking dogs.
He loves our children,
though he'll probably never say
But he lets us know
in his special way
With no children of his own
to teach the way to live
Teaching it to our kids
is his gift to give
He'll give those kids alamb,
and see that they succeed
Cause he'll be right there
to show them what they need
He calls us on the phone
every day or two
Just to check up on us
and hear of the things we do
Sometimes he seems cantakerous
maybe spoiling for a fight
But he's not scared to take a stand
For what he thinks is right.
At time he speaks real blund
and says what's on his mind
but he wouldn't hurt a fly
because he's not that kind
He;ll lend a helping hand
any time we need
He is the kind of man
that is a dying breed
And so we hold him dear
without so much a ransom
Because we love this man
we know as Wilbur Hanson.
