First Dawn and I give are love and wishes to the Bannister Family. Pete was very caring and a giving person. He was also the toughest and even feared a little as someone I had to race. Pete put it to me through the Amatuer and Pro classes. I'll never forget asking him. "You are faster than all of us why do you hit all of us on the way to first place."
"Rubbing each other part of racing."Pete said. He was too funny and really loved to race.
With the SX State Championship approaching, I asked Pete if he would build our SX track at Castle Rock. Our dirt was stolen. The last builder wouldn't deal with the politics or the club. Pete came through for us and the kids in the club. He built the best track we ever had and refused to be paid. He did it ALL out of loving to help and see his and all the children do well and have safe fun. No wonder Travis is exceptional as was all his family. God Bless Pete for we were blessed to have known him. I wish we knew sooner.I just found out while riding at Berthoud 4/14/12. Rightfully so Pete was the champ in his final season. Amazing

Pete was a real man. He raised his boys to be real men and I am proud to say the Bannisters are our friends. You could always count on Pete and the family to help with anything...my track.. my wood stove or watching out for my boys. I never worried about my back when the Bannisters were around and that is a true friend. Thanks for allowing my family to become part of yours. Pete will always be talked about in my Civics class when I talk about volunteers. God Bless all of you. Your friends, the Gilbreths

I met Pete in 1998 when I started working at Acuff Homes. I looked forward to shooting the breeze with Pete for a few minutes whenever he came in to our office. He always wore a smile, had something funny to say that we could both laugh about, and despite appearing as ornery as he could be, it was obvious he had a heart as big as all outdoors. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

The pain of losing someone you love can be overwhelming; I too know that pain. May your family find comfort as I have in knowing that our loving heavenly Father promises us that very soon, all those in the 'memorial tombs' will hear the voice of his only-begotten son Jesus and 'come out' by means of the resurrection. (John 5:28,29) What a wonderful day that will be!

To the Bannister family, we are very sorry for your loss...
An Angel whispered
take my hand and
come with me
you're work here is done.
I went away to a place
where there's no tears, nor sorrow
only laughter and smiles,
there will always be a Tomorrow.
As I move amongst the clouds.
I'll look down and smile upon you,
while the angels
sing a heavenly song.
I am not alone
all who went before
are here
they awaited my return.
I know you'll grieve
and wish I was still here
I am here in the memories
you hold dear.
Remember how much I
love you
and know I took your
love with me.
I did not wish for
you to cry, nor feel sad.
My pain is gone and
I am Free!
Soon you'll come to me
until then
God will be with you
Just as He's with me.
