Obituary of Norman Summers
Biography
Norman Norm Dale Summers age 71 of Falcon, Colorado passed away on January 17th 2012 at McKee Medical Center: Pathways Hospice in Loveland, Colorado, due to brain cancer.
He was born in Dalhart, Texas on August 19, 1940 to Wallace E. and Cora (McDaniel) Summers. He started school in Ordway, Colorado and he also attended Lincoln Valley in Rush, Colorado. Norm graduated high school in 1958 from Yoder High School in Yoder, Colorado.
Norm married Myrna Davis on February 14, 1961 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They shared over fifty years of marriage. On March 21st, 1962 they welcomed their first and only child Teresa (Terri, Missy) Lynn.
His occupations throughout life consisted of trucking and farming, two of the things he thoroughly enjoyed. Norm served on the Horsecreek Water Association Board as the Secretary for ten years, where he fought for the members with honesty and integrity.
For the last 25 years Norm enjoyed attending the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was known as a hardworking and honest man. He took pride in the friendships he made and enjoyed helping anyone whenever the chance arose. Norm will be missed by his family that he loved very much and his spirit will continue on in their lives forever
He is survived by his wife Myrna of fifty years; daughter Teresa Strayer (Richard) of Loveland, Colorado; two grandchildren, Taryn and Dustin Strayer both of Loveland, Colorado whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Wallace Sr; his mother, Cora; and his brother, Wallace Jr.
