Obituary of Helen Amack
Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident Helen Marie Amack passed away on July 9, 2012 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington. She was 91 years old.
Helen was born on March 13, 1921 to Alfonse and Gladys (Barr) Van Laeys in Wallace County, Kansas. She was one of four children. Helen grew up and attended school in Goodland, Kansas and graduated high school in 1941.
On March 18, 1944, Helen married Rynal Sanford Amack in Tigard, Oregon. To this union two children Rodney and Darrell were born.
Helen enjoyed spending time in her garden, playing cards and scrabble, as well as drawing. She was also a member of the Green Valley Womens Club and frequently attended the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Burlington. She was a very dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Her mission was taking care of others; her favorite occupation was being a nurses aide at KCCMH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rynal, one son Rodney Amack, two brothers Jim and Joe Van Laeys, one sister Virginia Anderson and one grandson Robert Amack.
She is survived by her son, Darrell and wife Kathy Amack of Burlington, and grandchildren Rynal Amack II (Desiree) of Aurora, Colorado and Stacey Amack (Greg McArthur) and their children Synnika Carter and Gage McArthur of Burlington, Colorado.
