To the Jim Trahern family: I always enjoyed the competition with Jim in town team basketball and other activities. I also appreciated Jim's help with the school system when he was chief of police in Limon. He was very good for the community of Limon. He will be missed by many.

Jim was a special friend to our family. He showed great concern, wanting to know how everything was going, always asking how is your mom "Peggy Kissel". Our deepest sympathy to all the family, God Bless and wrap his arms around you each day.

We've known Jim for over 40 years and always appreciated his integrity, his dry wit, and his genuine concern for others. Working for and with him for many years was rewarding. He turn Limon PD into a real department of dedicated officers who continue his legacy to this day and beyond. Thank you, sir. It was a privilege. And to Jim and Bob, we wish you well as you cope with your great loss.

There are some people who touch the lives of everyone they come in contact with, and Jim was one of those people. He welcomed our family to Limon when he hired Russell to work for the police department in October of 1992, yet he made it a point to ensure that each of us was comfortable and cared for in the community. He will be greatly missed...but we are each better off for having known him. The Lengels

To the Trahern family. I cannot express how much Jim meant to me and my family. He gave me my start in law enforcement, and then guided and mentored me. I am the man I am today becuase of guidance he has given me over the past 28 years. On May 15, 1998 the day Jim retired I took over as the Chief of Police for the Town of Limon. I cannot explain how how easy this process went becuase Jim had this department in such great shape when he handed it over to me. He will truly be missed by all of us that had the pleasure to work with and for him. Love Lynn & Lisa Yowell

We were saddened to hear of Jim's passing and send our sympathies to his family. We always appreciated his friendship, support and guidance over the years. We wish he could have been Flagler's Town Marshal for longer than he was, especially during the time our boys were growing up. May God comfort you during this difficult time.
