Obituary of James Paulson
James "Jim" Harry Paulson age 54 of Colorado Springs, Colorado and formerly of Last Chance and Limon, Colorado passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012. He was born April 8, 1958 the son of Archie Carl and Frances Alice (Nuttleman) Paulson. He grew up in the Woodlin, Colorado area and graduated from Woodlin High School in 1976. He was preceded in death by his father Archie Paulson, one son, Joshua Paulson and uncle Lyle Nuttleman. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Vicki Paulson of the home; his children, Jacob Paulson (Rissa) and their children Joely and Aydon of Colorado Springs, CO, Jami Goddard (Pete) of Savannah, GA, Jared Paulson (Calie) and their children Tailynn and a soon to be new baby on the way of Ceta Canyon, TX and Jeff Paulson of Westminister, CO.
Jim was a quiet, humble and hard working farmer and rancher. The land and the cattle provided an education of life for Jim that no other occupation could teach him and help him grow and mature as a father, husband, and as a good neighbor. Jims hard work ethic and his honest sweat were the building blocks of his character. He believed that true happiness came from watching his crops and his family flourish from hard work and a strong faith in God. Farming helped nurture his close family ties and he knew that none of this could be possible without his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 2001 Jim followed God faithfully letting go of everything he knew and sold the farm and ranch and bought the bowling alley in Limon, CO. Jim put his heart and soul into the alley transforming it into what he dreamed it could become. He loved meeting all the people that came to bowl and cherished the time he spent with them. In his early twenty's Jim recommitted his life to Jesus Christ and from that day forward, he made sure that he lived his life through Christ everyday right up until God called Jim home into the Kingdom of Heaven. He loved his wife, his children and his grandchildren more than anything and he very rarely missed any activities of theirs. He was an avid sports fan and especially a huge Broncos fan which he enjoyed watching those games with his sons every Sunday. Jim also enjoyed the outdoors where fishing and hunting was a favorite hobby. You could always find Jim and his sons tinkering on a vehicle or some piece of machinery. He always loved a good western and John Wayne was most definitely his all time favorite. Most of all Jims greatest love was being a great family man and he will be dearly missed by all of his family until they all meet again on the streets of gold in Heaven. He was a well respected member of his church family and his community that he loved so much. Jim helped teach his family and friends to appreciate in ways they would never have realized without his guidance. He will be greatly missed by the many friends he made wherever he went and by his family he loved so much. His spirit and his legacy will continue on and remain in the hearts and thoughts of all of his family and friends forever
