Obituary of Twila Carter
Twila Anita Taylor Carter was born to Jim and Ruth Taylor on January 30, 1961, in Goodland, Kansas. She grew up on a farm south of Burlington, Co. She was a tomboy until she was in the fifth grade when she developed allergies. At that time her mother started teaching her to sew, and crochet.
She graduated high school in 1980 and later continued onto Morgan Community College in which she studied two years in business technologies. In Burlington is where she lived all her life.
Twila had her first child in August 1979; James Taylor, three years later she had her second child in August 1982; Jesse Lopez. Just over a year later she had her only girl in December 1983, Emilda Langdon. Then after five years she had her final baby boy in July of 1988, Charles Lopez.
Twila married Darrell Carter on November 30, 1996 and gained three more children Eleana Long, Darrell McDonough, and Brian Carter. She enjoyed going dancing with Darrell out at the Burlington Inn when Lee Sims was in town.
She was not a complainer despite her affliction with renal failure and blindness for approximately ten years. She was always able to see the brighter side of things. She would rather laugh than cry about her problems.
In Twilas spare time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting and bragging about her dog Chance.
She is survived by her husband, Darrell Carter of Burlington, Colorado. Her children James Taylor (Soraya Frank) of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; Jesse Lopez (Lily) of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; Eleana Long (Brad) of Goodland, Kansas; Emilda Langdon (Edward) of Evans, Colorado; Darrell McDonough (Mary) of Burlington Colorado; Brian Carter of Wilmar, Minnesota; and Charles Lopez (Bryttnie Yoes) of Stratton, Colorado.
