Obituary of Eleonora Nelson

Eleonora Louise Nelson was born on June 17, 1929 at Harrisburg, Colorado to Christ and Marie Johnson. She passed away on April 28, 2016 at Grace Manor Care Center, in Burlington, Colorado. Eleonora attended Harrisburg School to the 8th grade and then went to work at of variety of jobs. She met Alvin Nelson in North Dakota on a harvest crew. They were married in Lakewood, Colorado on December 5, 1948. They spent their honeymoon at Lookout Mountain. Eleonora loved playing cards, going out to coffee with friends, watching sports on television especially the Rockies, crocheting, jig saw puzzles and anytime the Lazy K Bus was going to Blackhawk she wanted to be on it. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlington and was very proud of her Danish heritage. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-laws, Sybil Nelson and George Reese of Akron, Carla Nelson-Hall and Dave Hall of Peyton, Granddaughter Amanda O'Shell and husband Christopher O'Shell, and Great-Grandson Luke Alvin O'Shell, of Greeley, her brothers and sister-in-laws, Harold and Doris Johnson of Akron, Harry and Jerry Johnson of Pasco, Washington, Betty Hendrich of Fort Morgan and many other relatives and good friends. Eleonora was preceded in death by her husband Alvin, one sister, Clara Marick, four brothers, Melvin Johnson, Carl Johnson, Erik Johnson and Holger Johnson.
