Obituary of Thomas Cirbo
Thomas Eugene Cirbo, 88, of Matheson, Colorado passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado on November 14, 2012.
Tom was born to Andrew and Mary (Roseman) Cirbo on January 15, 1924 in Ramah, Colorado where he was a part of a large family that consisted of eleven children. He was raised in the Ramah area through most of his childhood attending school through the 8th grade.
Tom served his country in the United States Army during World War II in Korea. He enlisted on November 10, 1945 in Fort Logan, Colorado and was Honorably Discharged on November 10, 1946.
Tom operated a trucking company and livestock feedlot for over 30 years out of Matheson. He lived a quiet life and loved to tinker on tractors and cars, he was very mechanically inclined. He loved socializing and knew everyone in Matheson. As soon as the snow stopped falling, you would find Tom out plowing roads and driveways with his tractor. His home was always open to stranded motorists. Tom was a modern day Good Samaritan, not only fixing their car, but would invite them to eat with the family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary Cirbo, his son Anthony Cirbo, grandson Benjamin Cirbo and siblings; Alvin Cirbo, Mildred Kochis and Sherlene Baker.
Tom is survived by his children; Betty Stinton of Aurora, Colorado, Tom Jr. (Barbara) Cirbo, of Peyton, Colorado, Larry (Kathleen) Cirbo of Longmont, Colorado, Leo (Pam) Cirbo of Littleton, Colorado, and Teri (Darrell) Rogers of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He is also survived by siblings; Alfred Cirbo of Arvada, Andrew Cirbo of Denver, Angelia Wingard of Simla, Jim Cirbo of Broomfield, Delmar Cirbo of Limon, Richard Cirbo of Matheson, Edward Cirbo of Simla, and seven grandchildren. Tom will be missed by his family, grandchildren and the residents of Matheson, Colorado.
