gSandy, Penny & Scott - Please know that Mom (Pearl), Lori and I are thinking of all of you at this time. It's been years since we have seen each other, but I have such fond memories of your Mom and Dad, especially as a kid when we come down to see Grandma Minta. May God's loving arms be around you all during this difficult time.

Visits With My Grandmom - January 19, 2013
Posted: January 19, 2013 | Last Revised: January 19, 2013
One of the highlights of my summer would be a visit for one to two weeks to my "grandfolks"' house, at first on the ranch, where there was plenty of room to run and play, plus lots of kittie cats and a cat-loving dog, Laddie, to play with. I remember all the great meals we had, which included breakfast, dinner, and supper. Of course, with so much to do around the place, we could burn through those calories pretty quick LOL. I remember all the little games available for my brother and I to play with, plus we were able to use our imaginations for fun as well. We didn't do much TV viewing, because there was one channel (yep, in this 500-channel universe, that's hard to believe LOL). But you know, we didn't need it, there was so much fun to be had without it. When the grandparents made the move to Seibert, we still went down to spend time and always have lots of memories there as well. During the summer of 1981, I even had a high school friend, Crystal, who was staying with another local lady in town, stop by to visit me at Grandmom and Granddad's. I remember she got a kick out of the snacks that Grandmom would make for us, because the lady she was staying with always to go out to eat. She thought Grandmom was "the coolest" : ). The best part, of course, was being able to visit grandmom and granddad and being able to spend some real quality time with them. I'm so glad I was able to do that those summers. I do miss both of them so much.

I have so many fond memories of Grandmom Goodwin. I do remember she was always lots of fun, was the best cook, and I always enjoyed receiving her handmade quilts and afghans, one, which she made for my high school graduation, I still have to this day. I really will miss her.
