I send my condolences to the family of Raymond at this difficult time. May you be comforted by the promise of the resurrection and the end of sickness and death forever. God makes this promise to us at Revelation 21:4 where it states, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." I hope these words are of consolation.

I am so sorry for the loss of Ray. I always liked and appreciated Ray for his sensability and his dedication to Stratton and Kit Carson County. Even though he had a rough exterior, I could always count on some teasing.

Losing a loved one in death is very difficult. For many having comfort from the scriptures aids the grieving process. Relying on such scriptures as John 5:28,29 and Isa 25:8 are a true blessing!

Raymond and Pete - February 13, 2013
Posted: February 13, 2013 | Last Revised: February 13, 2013
One story I have heard about Uncle Raymond, aka Raymond Rudolf Albert, is when he and another uncle, Uncle Clarence, or Pete as we called him, were both at the seminary together in Ohio or Iowa. Seems kind of out of the ordinary to think of Uncle Ray attending the seminary, doesn't it? Uncle Raymond really enjoyed books and the story goes that the library was closed or that the section Ray wanted to get into was closed; however, that did not stop my Uncle Raymond. With aiding and abetting by Uncle Pete, Uncle Ray was able to get over a barrier and into his world of books. There was also something about figuring out a way to get enough light to read by-maybe some form of lantern, as not to attract attention. I do not recall ever hearing if Uncle Ray ever got caught, or for that matter, Uncle Pete, for aiding and abetting his brother in trespassing.

Six brothers and two sisters formed the family of Rudolf and Frances (Droste) Schulte. All the brothers farmed--three in Kansas (Henry, Bernard, and Clarence (Pete) and three in Colorado (John, Joe, and Raymond)--and a sister (Margaret) also married a farmer. The other sister became Sister Sylana (Agnes) in the Wichita Congregation of the Sister Adorers. Now only that Sister survives along with Aunt Henrietta (Ray's wife) and Aunt Mary Norma (Uncle Henry's wife).
If stubborn can be a virtue, then my Uncle Ray definitely exhibited that virtue, but in many good ways--call it persistent or determined, either way he knew what way he wanted to do. So, now he is will have to hold his own again. Let's just hope he and his brother John don't get into a fight up there. With love and sympathy to the family. Michael and Sandra Schulte and family.
