Obituary of Margaret Konecne
Margaret Anne Konecne (a.k.a. Mom/Grandma) passed away on May 25, 2013 after an extended illness. Margaret Anne, was born on Christmas Day 1932, to Victor and Bessie Jones (Hahn) in Reagan, Nebraska, she was the second of three children, brother Dean and sister Barbara.
Margaret attended several schools. She married Robert (Bob) Konecne on October 18, 1953. To this union six children were born; Vickie Marie, Rhonda Sue, Rodney Dale, Earline Anne, Michael Lynn, and Patti Jo.
In the inevitable whirl wind of life Bob and Margaret ended up in Burlington in 1973 with children in tow.
Margaret took a job as bookkeeper with Busby Inc for several years. After some down time Margaret took a job at Burlington Care Center as a Dietician cooking for all the residents. Margaret later began working at Kit Carson County Health Service District again as a Dietician. Margaret was in her element when cooking, and prided herself on never receiving a compliant on her fried chicken and chicken fried steak which she made regularly for her family and the employees of the Kit Carson County Health Service District.
After Margaret retired in 2006, she enjoyed her coffee social group at her house at least once a day if not twice, just to visit about ole times.
Margaret never missed watching a Denver Broncos or a Colorado Rockies game. She was an advent fan. During baseball season you could walk into Margarets house at anytime and find the television tuned into the game and her sporting her Vinny Castillia or Todd Helton t-shirt cheering them on.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Bessie Jones, her two siblings, Dean Jones and Barbara Miller, her husband, Robert (Bob) and her three children Rhonda, Rodney and Patti. Those mourning her passing are her daughters Vickie Humphrey (Randy) of Loveland, Colorado, Earline Colvin (Lance) and her son Michael Konecne (Robin) all of Burlington. Five grandchildren; Heidi, Dustin, Kalee, Kara and Mitchell, along with very special brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
