Obituary of Janet Maloney
Mrs. Janet M. (Gunby) Maloney passed away quietly in her home on June 11th after a long battle with COPD and emphysema. Jan was born and raised in Lockport, NY. She married John Maloney in 1958, and accompanied him when he was stationed in Germany, France, Austria and Thailand during his 20-years in the Air Force. After he retired from the service, he worked as a Real Estate Broker in Littleton and Applewood, CO. They moved to Hugo in 1978, and he continued to broker and began instructing in real estate. As he pursued his second career, Jan opened her home to bible studies and sharing her faith with others. She loved being a homemaker, but after John passed she worked at Eastern Slope Rural Telephone Company for several years.
Survivors include two sisters (Joan Rutherford of Denver and Marilyn Weiland of Wheatridge), a brother (Ken Gunby of Denver), and several nieces and nephews in California, Idaho, Nebraska, Texas, South Dakota and New York.
