I want to extend my sympathy to Kay's family. I know she will be missed. I also went to Smokey Hill School and have fond memories of Kay and the entire Meyers family. My husband's step grandfather was Bert Meyers, Shorty's brother. I well remember the bus rides and cinnamon rolls!! I am sorry for your loss.k

To each of you in Kay's family, I send my heartfelt condolences to you as you mourn her passing. Kay was a high-school teenager when I was in junior high and I loved seeing the can-cans she wore under her dresses, the shoes, she, along with Corky Mullis, were my idols in study hall, and typical teenagers from the early 60s. Any time after that, when I saw Kay, she was always so friendly and interested in what was going on in my life. She was almost always upbeat about things, even when I knew she was having a tough time. One thing I know is that she loved her kids..and grandkids. Seems that was her favorite conversation topic and we discussed it a lot! My mother thought no other person on earth could fry chicken or make potatoes and gravy, like Kay Carson could, and I became convinced of that also. I feel fortunate to have known her, my life was enriched by her being here. Peace to all of you and know she loved you all. Judy Arends
