Obituary of Elouise Felzien
Elouise (Pittman) Felzien passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society-Sherman County nursing home in Goodland, KS.
Elouise was born in St.Francis, KS on December 9, 1927, the seventh child of John and Carrie Pittman. She was raised in Bird City, KS and graduated from Bird City Rural High School on May 23, 1946. She married Cecil Felzien on December 21, 1946 in the Pastors office of Zion Lutheran Church in St. Francis, KS. At this same time she was baptized and joined the Lutheran Church. They resided in Bird City, KS where a daughter, Marsha and a son, Gregory completed the family.
Due to business interests the family moved in 1950 to Burlington, CO. They joined and were active members of First St. Pauls Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school and Bible school for many years. She worked various jobs outside the home but was primarily a homemaker. In 1963 she was President of the VFW ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, listening to music, working in the yard and traveling with her husband.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 65 years, Cecil, father John, mother Carrie, sisters: Ruby, Bertha, Blondina, Mildred, Doris, and brother, Gerald.
She is survived by daughter, Marsha Jackson and husband Rick of Burlington, CO; son Gregory Felzien of Brighton, CO; sister-in-law Rosalee Felzien of Parker, CO; seven grandchildren: Troy Adolf (Michael) of Modesto, CA; Lori Stannard (Noel) of San Jose, CA; Dr. Gregory Felzien of OK; Mark Felzien (Nola) of White City, OR; Heather Jackson Williams (Robert) of Erie, CO; Travis Jackson (Shanna) of Greeley, CO; Rebecca Jackson of Cheyenne Wells and twelve great grandchildren. And two special grand pups, Brody and Tucker.
