Obituary of Archie Hinton
Longtime Burlington, Colorado resident, Archie Allen Hinton passed away on July 27, 2014 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital. He was 85 years old.
He was born on August 30, 1928 to Avery and Oma (Knight) Hinton in Stockville, Nebraska. He was one of fourteen children born to this union.
He enlisted in the United States Army on January 23, 1951 and was honorably discharged on October 25, 1962. He also received a Bronze Star for his service in the Military.
He met and married Gracie Hinton on January 14, 1978 in Burlington, Colorado.
He was a member of the VFW Post in Burlington.
His hobbies were fishing, playing cards, watching football, sewing and quilting. He also loved playing with his grandkids and traveling.
He is preceded in death by his parents, step-son James L. Stone and eight siblings.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Gracie of Burlington, Colorado, son Kenneth Hinton of Garden City, Kansas, daughters; Peggy Daniher (Jim) of Garden City, Kansas, Patricia Powell of Quinter, Kansas, Nancy Langhausen (Terry) of Dallas, Texas, Shirley Hinton of Paris, Arkansas, step-son RL Stone of Burlington, Colorado, step-daughters; Rhonda Tomnitz of Burlington, Colorado and Donna Holland of Burlington, Colorado. Also surviving Archie are three brothers; Frankie Hinton (Betty) and Francie Hinton (Marila) of Hollyrude, Kansas, Marvin Hinton (Jennie) of Canon City, Colorado and three sisters; Dorothy Taylor (Marvin) of Wyoming, Louise Cardova of Pueblo, Colorado and Hazel Rucker of Lubbock, Texas.
