Obituary of Pauline McCaffrey
Pauline Ethel McCaffrey 85, of Vona passed from this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 09, 2014 at the Kit Carson County Memorial Hospital in Burlington after a short illness.
Pauline was born May 24, 1929 southwest of Vona on her grandpa, Ben H. Boeses, homestead to Arthur L. and Lydia A. Boese, the second of six children. She accepted the Lord as her savior as a young child and belonged to the Mennonite Church. She attended Pleasant Valley School, ½ mile from home, until the 8th grade. She attended and graduated from Burlington High School in 1946.
On June 29, 1946 she married Robert (Bob) E. Harrison. To this marriage came Barbara Lea in 1949 and Peggy Joanne in 1953. Bob passed away from cancer in April of 1956. Three years later, Pauline married Darrell H. McCaffrey on June 13th. Dareline Alberta came in 1960 followed by Rhonda Reanee in 1962.
Pauline is preceded in death by her mother and father, husbands Bob and Darrell, two sisters Elaine (Harrison) and Charlotte (Halseide), two brothers Willis and Eldon Boese, one granddaughter, Lori Lee Grasser, and one son-in-law, Larry Shutte.
She is survived in death by four daughters, Barbara (Rich) Grasser of Stratton, Colorado, Peggy (Steve) Weston of Denver, Colorado, Dareline (Russ) Malone of Vona, Colorado, Rhonda of Stratton, Colorado, seven grandchildren, Carol Grasser Trevino, Megan Sands, Cody (Dakota) Malone, Kendal Malone, Deidra, Kyle, and Mitchell Shutte, and one great-grandchild Zayla Elizabeth. Pauline is also survived by one sister, Beverly (Chuck) Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors.
