Obituary of Ernest Orcutt
E. Frank Orcutt, 76, of Rush, Colorado passed away August 23, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He was born to Ernest and Grace (Broadhurst) Orcutt on June 13, 1938 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Frank graduated from Miami/Yoder High School in Rush, Colorado and started ranching and farming with his dad.
Frank married Caroline Ploutz on September 18, 1958 in Farmington, New Mexico. They were married for 56 years and from that marriage they had 5 children. Frank started driving a truck for Gaddy Truck Line in 1957. He started Longhorn Truck Line in 1972 and hauled livestock, hay, equipment and pulled a refer trailer for 35 years, all while continuing to farm/ranch.
Frank never knew a stranger more than a minute. He loved to hunt and play softball. From this love, he helped to form the Mens Softball League. He loved his grandchildren they were the light of his life, whether he was teaching them about livestock for 4-H or how to farm.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; son, Heath; brother, Allen (Butch); and sister, Betty.
He is survived by his wife, Caroline Orcutt; children, Arnold Orcutt of Rush, CO; Brenda Tipton of Limon, CO; Debora (James) Rieder of Campballsport, WI; David (Shelly) Orcutt of Rush, CO; brother, Dale (Bonnie) Orcutt of Ramah, CO; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren
