Obituary of Milton Maskus
Milton Paul Maskus, 74 passed away August 24, 2014 at his home in Karval, Colorado. Milton was born September 30, 1939 to Herman and Pauline (Heronemus) Maskus in the Hollywood addition of Dodge City, Kansas. He was baptized October 1939 at a Lutheran Church South of Dodge and was confirmed June 7, 1953 at Christ Lutheran Church North of Genoa. The family moved Northwest of Arriba, Colorado in 1945.
Milton served in the U.S. Navy from January 1958 to January 1962 and was in the Navy reserves from January 1962 to January 1964. He served on the USS Washtenaw County, USS Noble and USS Seminole as officer Helmsmen.
After the Navy, he worked as a truck driver, construction for Parker Fence in Colorado Springs, and 24 ½ years for Lincoln County Road and Bridge operating a maintainer and dozer.
On December 20, 1986 he married Frances Stogsdill and also became a dad to Tawnia. He enjoyed spending time with his family and tinkering around the house and reading his bible.
Milton is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Neil and Noble Maskus; sister, Lorene Spohr; brother-in-law, Herb Spohr; nephews, Keith Maskus and Garret Maskus.
He is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Tawnia (Tim) Davis of Akron, CO; granddaughters, Tanesha Davis of Casper, WY, Tallee Davis and Timber Davis of Akron, CO; sister, Marilyn (Don) Freeman of Colorado Springs, CO; sister-in-laws, Doris Maskus of Montrose, CO and Avis Maskus of Arriba, CO; and many nieces and nephews.
