Larry Lee Strode
10/24/1948 - 1/15/2023
Larry Strode, 74, passed away on January 15, 2023 with his family at his side. He was born in Flagler, CO on October 24, 1948 to Steven Stanley and Marguerite (Verhoeff) Strode. He married Jean (Teeter) in 1972 and had three children (Suzanne, Wesley, and Lucas). In 1995, he married Gayle (Peterson) and gained one adopted daughter (Brittany) and one stepson (Bryce). As a 1966 Flagler High School graduate, he was a life-long rancher south of Flagler. A game of cards and craps was often enjoyed with friends and family.
He is survived by sister Zenelda (Strode) Cornett; brother Loren Monte Strode; sister Alethia (Strode) Klann; daughter Suzanne (Strode) Moore and husband Eli; son Wesley Strode and wife Stephanie; son Lucas Strode and wife Tonya; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, half brother John (Jack) Campbell, sister Sylvia (Strode) Gieck and brother Don Strode.
A celebration of life will be held at the Flagler Senior Center on February 4, 2023 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.
Larry's Children extend an invitation to family and friends to join us in celebrating and honoring his life. We will gather to share some of our best memories and favorite stories of our dad. Please come prepared with your own funny or uplifting stories and memories about him. Stop in for a moment or stay the entire time. Everyone is welcome.
