Anna Posey - Shaw posted a condolence
Friday, January 6, 2023
Our families have been lifelong friends. Joe hired our dad, as a young man, to work on his farm. It did not take dad long to respect and admire Joe. Followed by a love for Joe, Helen and family as his own. Joe made a difference in the life of Alvin Posey and his children. I am gratful for the love and a treasure trove of memories that I have; because, Joe and Helen loved my dad.
Joe's laughter was contagious and you never had to wait long to hear it. His beautiful eyes would twinkle and a smile would consume his face. Especially after a successful prank. Don definitely inherited this trait from his dad.
There are a number of adjectives one could use to describe Joe depending on your relationship. I found him to be knowledgeable and enjoyed talking with him about farming and farm equipment after I went to work for CaseIH. You would have thought I gave him a pot of gold when I gave him a hat with the Case logo.
I also found Joe to be a man of honor, integrity, humility, compassionate be it human or animal, hardworking, a man of faith, but first and foremost he was a family man. His love for his family was steadfast and intense, he often spoke of Helen with respect, awe (child birth), and love. Told me on more than one occasion that Helen " was one hell of a woman". Joe spoke of his children and grandchildren with love and pride, usually follow by a funny story about a family the member. His method of rousing the boys out bed after a late night still makes laugh.
The man Joe McCormick will be missed by family and friends. However, Joe leaves an enviable legacy in his family; his presence is still among us through his children and their families.

Thank You Lord for giving us Joe and Helen for a true inspiration on how to enjoy life with family, work diligently, treat others as we’d prefer treated, and most importantly, how to raise and work with a family without greed and dishonesty. We look forward to running into Ole Joe in Heaven! Where the grass is always green, the water clean and plentiful, no drought, and no pain or sorrow. God, please Bless Helen and the McCormick family in their time of need.
