Obituary of John James Henander

John “Johnny” Henander Jr.
Johnny Henander was born on August 16, 1937 and passed away on October 18, 2022. Johnnie was born and raised in Limon, Colorado where he chose to spend his entire life. He graduated from Limon High School in 1957. He was best known for his accolades in track and Football with setting a record that held from 1956-1980 in the 100 Yard dash, along with being inducted into the Limon High School Lloyd Gaskill Hall of Fame in 2016.
After Graduation he joined the Army. When finishing serving his country he returned to Limon where he began working for the Rock Island Railroad as a conductor until his retirement in 1980 when the Rock Island ended.
John was known to be a friend to all and in the Community with never being shy of his ornery side. He had an extraordinary green thumb, always having the greenest grass and beautiful flowers in his yard. His love for the Railroad was never ending.
John is preceded in death by his Father John Henander Sr., his Mother Ethel Henander, Sister Verna May King and other Sister Peggy Sater. John is survived by his Sister Dorothy Bell, Niece, Sheri Fish and one Nephew Todd Sater.
