Obituary of Barbara Pralle
Lifelong resident of Burlington, Barbara Pralle, passed away on Saturday, November 22nd at Grace Manor Care Center. She was 84 years old.
Barbara was born on June 12, 1930 in Burlington, Colorado. Her parents were Robert & Mary (Chase) Gassner. Barbara attended all 12 years of school in Burlington, graduating in 1948. After graduating she worked as a telephone operator for Mountain States Telephone Company. On October 10, 1948 she married her high school sweetheart, Dale Pralle, after he was discharged from the Navy. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this October. From this union two children were born, Pamela Kay on April 18, 1950 and Allan Dale on July 6, 1953.
Barbara stayed at home and took care of her children until they graduated from high school. She was a Cub Scout and Brownie leader for several years with her children. After her children graduated she went to work as a retail-inventory clerk for Orths Department Store for 20 years.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and counted cross-stitch up until her eye sight started to fail when she was diagnosed with macular degeneration.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her husband, Dale, her daughter, Pam Richards (Jim) of Thornton, Colorado and her son Allan (Sharon) of Burlington. Surviving also are her sister Marion Lambert and her husband Doyle of Burlington and their children Dayla & Wendel.
She is also survived by four grandchildren Sean Klueckman of Thornton, Colorado, Jennifer (Brandon) Hays, Jazmine (Eli) Korber, and Dylan Pralle, all of Burlington, Colorado. Along with great grandchildren, Lauren, Brooklyn, Grayson Hays and Samuel and Kixton Korber of Burlington, Colorado.
